United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), Africa’s Global Bank is celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day by launching a number of initiatives that will empower and celebrate its female employees, who are an important part of their business.

In order to continue its commitment in promoting gender equality, financial inclusion and addressing key social and economic issues, the bank designed some programs which will help address these challenges. They also offer tailored solutions for women’s financial growth.

UBA’s theme for the month of march is “Accelerate action for her progress”. This will include a Webinar Series and Trivia Challenges. There will also be a Business Series Live event, as well as Discount Offers for Cards and Loans.

The bank is committed to ensuring women on the African continent, as well as beyond, can access financial resources, information, and other opportunities that will help them succeed in both their professional and personal lives.

Webinar Series on Health & Social Issues will feature expert speakers who are addressing important topics affecting the health and wellbeing of women.

The Business Series Live Event will be a special event where female business leaders and experts in financial management will provide their insights and share them with aspiring entrepreneurs.

A Daily Trivia Challenge will be offered by the bank, which is an engaging and fun activity that aims to inform and reward its participants about topics related to financial literacy and women’s empowerment.

The UBA Foundation will provide Care Kits for Secondary School Children to help cater to the needs of the female child. This is part of UBA’s commitment to developing the next generation women leaders.

Oliver Alawuba explained, ahead of this year’s IWD activities, that UBA Group Managing Directors/Chief executive Officers’ plethora initiatives are in line with UBA mission to be the bank for women who work in business and retail. Through targeted financial products and knowledge sharing sessions as well as strategic partnerships with other banks, the bank is committed to creating an environment that allows women to thrive, both in business and personally. We aim to boost the retention and acquisition of female clients by enhancing these products.

UBA is committed to promoting inclusivity, innovation and ensuring women can access the tools and resources they need to be successful in today’s fast-paced economic environment.
