Ingredients for Shamrock Pretzels

  • Green melting wafers: We love using candy melts to make festive treats (like cake pops). Choose green candy melts of any color that you find lucky for shamrock-shaped pretzels. White candy melts can be dyed to the desired color with green food coloring gel.
  • Pretzels: You’ll also need the bag of classic mini twists to make these shamrocks. Three pretzels are arranged into a shamrock to make each shamrock.
  • Sticks of lollipop: Online, you can buy affordable lollipops sticks. You can also find them in the baking aisle at most grocery stores. Pretzel sticks could be used to make the whole shamrock edible.
  • Green M&M candies: One green M&M can be used to decorate the middle of every shamrock-shaped pretzel.
  • Green sprinkles: Choose your green sprinkles of choice to cover your pretzels dipped in shamrock dipping before setting.

Pretzels with Shamrocks – How to make them

Step 1: Melt green wafers

Set aside two baking sheets lined with parchment. Melt the green wafers at half power in a bowl for 30 seconds intervals. Stir after each. You can also try the other methods of melting chocolate.

Editor’s Tip: Nest the bowl of green wafers melted in hot water to keep it at the right consistency.

The pretzels are dipped in the chocolate.

Use a fork quickly to dip a pretzel in the green candy meltings. Make sure that it’s coated all around. Tap the fork against the bowl side to remove as much candy coating from the pretzel. Place the pretzel carefully onto the sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process with two additional pretzels. Arrange them on the sheet in a Shamrock pattern.

Step 3: Add the lollipop and decorations

Then, place a 3/4-inch lollipop in the middle of the pretzels. Add sprinkles and a M&M green candy to the center of your shamrock. Continue with the rest of pretzels.

Allow the coating to set.

Let the pretzels shamrocks set for at least one hour, or until the coating is fully solidified. Enjoy.
