Cinnamon is my favorite spice. This is my favorite spice. Any other It’s the only thing I have ever tried, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Do I think cinnamon tastes better than anything else? Usually, yes. It’s versatile and can be used in sweet or savory foods, especially in Thanksgiving meals (Christmas is the time for cinnamon to shine).
You’d expect my response to Kraft’s new apple pie macaroni and cheese, would be pure joy. You’re right, but my inner critic was intrigued more than anything. What would this mix taste like? Mac and cheese has been a comforting dish for many years, but mac pie? The Kraft box was in my hand and I tried it out.

How do I prepare Kraft Apple Pie Mac and Cheese? You can find out more about it here. As the instructions on the package state: 1/4 cup milk, 4 teaspoons butter or margarine, and cheese powder. I usually take liberties when preparing my Kraft Mac, but didn’t wish to affect this taste test. As I opened the packet of powder, I thought it would be a crazy ride. The open package emitted a sweet aroma and I was afraid for my tastebuds as I dumped the powder into the pot of pasta.
After I had cooked the mac, it looked exactly like regular macaroni and cheese. I was hesitant to take my first bite. It tasted just like normal mac and cheese, with less cheese and cinnamon. It was disappointing that the apple taste wasn’t there, but it was still delicious. The whole pot was consumed by me.
What I really wanted in the end was apple pie with more pizzazz. I wanted strange. It was the kind of flavor that would make me question what I put in my mouth. It was best described as tasting like an apple pie and mac and cheese that were kept in the same fridge. There was a hint of sweetness mixed with the cheese but it wasn’t enough to make you gag.
What’s the best side dish for Thanksgiving? It’s not the best Thanksgiving side, but it is a fun novelty. It’s not enough different to justify buying over Kraft Mac and Cheese if you want the most flavorful experience.
Where can I buy Kraft Apple Pie Mac and Cheese?
Walmart currently offers Kraft Apple Pie Mac and Cheese on their website. It is yet to be determined if it will also be sold in physical stores. This could become the modern classic for Thanksgiving. Time will tell.
