InZoi Karma explained and how to change your Karma

Even though it would be nice if everyone in the world was kind, this is not the formula to create an enjoyable life simulation video game. If all the characters in InZoi only gave each other compliments, it would get boring immediately–fortunately, that’s not what InZoi is like at all. This is a complete explanation of InZoi’s karma.

InZoi karma explained

In InZoi you have the option to be either a good Zoi (or a bad Zoi), and this is determined by your Karma Level. InZoi karma does not have a direct equivalent in The Sims 4. The closest thing would be the reputation system. But that is based on how other characters perceive you. This karma system works more like a game’s evaluation of your behaviour.

In this case, InZoi karma is similar to the dark/light side system in Star Wars games, or to the renegade/paragon systems from Mass Effect. Your karma will change as you progress, and the more it changes the better your options are. You can be a bully by picking fights, shoving someone to the floor, and more if you have bad Karma. Even committing crime, such as robbing an ATM will be possible. Be careful, as you can get sent to prison for this kind of crime.

The flipside of this is that having good karma unlocks a lot of new, friendly, and encouraging interactions which will make other Zois like you even more.

There is a spiritual consequence of having bad karma. It doesn’t result in horns like Fable, but it does have a immediate one. Your Zoi will become a haunting ghost if they have bad karma. We don’t yet know the exact mechanics of the ghosts, as they haven’t been implemented into the game.

InZoi: How to create good or bad Karma

We’ve talked about what karma is, but not how to gain it or lose. It is obvious that in the abstract the concept of karma will be worsened by mean-spirited interactions, while nice interactions improve it. In InZoi, there’s a specific section in the dialog and interaction boxes that is dedicated to actions which will affect your karma. This is what it looks like. If you’re looking to improve or reduce your karma, choose interactions that include the circular symbol.

InZoi uses a circular symbol to represent karma. A blue circle indicates a positive karma and a red onesignifies a negative karma. Do as many blue actions as possible to make your karma rise. Do the red actions to make your karma drop. This is exactly how it works.

You can still boost it a little bit with two methods. Donuts are the first thing you can do. You can purchase two donuts that are focused on karma. One resets your karma back to neutral and the other gives you bad karma. You’ll need to earn good karma the hard way.

You can also increase or decrease the rate of Zois’s karma in the City Management menu. There are sliders to do this. You can max out your karma in just minutes if you move the slider towards the faster end.

What are the benefits of having a neutral karma?

This system hasn’t been fully developed yet, as I cannot tell. In the future, it’s possible that neutral options may be added.
