9 Popular Costco Items That You Won’t Find in 2025

Nine popular Costco items that you won’t find in 2025

Costco shopping is local for me, since I am a Seattle resident. Kirkland is the name of a Seattle suburb and is sold by Kirkland. The Costco chain has its headquarters in Issaquah. The sheer number of products in each of my neighbours’ stores is one of the many reasons why I like them. Costco has been my go-to place for everything from patio furniture to baby clothes and books. I also bought mixing bowls for parties, folding tables for events, as well as food.

Costco can’t offer all its products forever because it has too many. Costco’s products come and go, sometimes without warning. Thankfully, Costco sells most of its items in enormous, are-you-running-a-daycare sizes, so you won’t run out soon.

Take a look at the nine products that Costco no longer sells reliably.

Croissant Sandwich Platter

Costco’s sandwich platter is the best party food you’ve ever had. Costco’s croissant sandwich platter includes ten Costco croissants sliced in three to make turkey, roast beef, and ham sandwiches.

This was something I bought every year for my Christmas Cookie Swap Party, but has been missing for the past two years. The pinwheel platter was the only thing I could find when I inquired about it. A deli tray with cold cuts, cheese and rolls were also available, but croissants and rolls had to be purchased separately. I will cheer from Seattle’s Ballard district to the Issaquah HQ if the croissant sandwich plate ever comes back.

Kirkland Chocolate Chips

Everyone should have a supply of chocolate chips on hand, for use in cookies, bars, or snacks. Reader’s Digest reported that Costco had discontinued its brand of chocolate chip due to the rising price of cocoa. Nestle is the only chocolate available at this warehouse.

Roast Beef Sandwich

Costco’s menu changes frequently, too often for many shoppers. Roast beef sandwiches are no longer available in the food court but the $1.50 combo of hot dogs and sodas remains.

Churros

Love some churros. Sweet, twisted sticks of sweet fried dough that are usually associated with state fairs. Costco sold the sweet sticks of twisted fried dough until 2024. They were a tasty reward after shopping. They’ve returned in the past. Here’s a place to get a Costco-style churro substitute.

Berry Smoothie

People loved Costco’s berry smoothie in the food court. According to The Takeout and Reddit comments, the strawberry-banana smoothie is gone and replaced by a new version.

Kirkland Country French Bread

Costco has a surprising bakery for a large-format store. Kirkland Signature Brand Country French Bread was a favorite of many shoppers, but a Redditor who visited the Costco bakery found that it has been discontinued.

Costco’s ‘Cooking The Costco Way Cookbook’

With all the food it sells, it’s natural for them to compile recipes. Every Black Friday, the chain would give away free Cooking The Costco Way cookbooks. Costco no longer gives out free cookbooks, but the Costco Connection Magazine still has recipes.

Red Grapefruit Cups

I love grapefruits, in salads, juices, or even just as a fruit. Costco has a wide variety of Kirkland Signature fruit cups. However, the red grapefruit cup is no longer available. This fact was confirmed by a Redditor.

Store-Brand Eggs That Are Not Cage-Free.

Actually, this is a good thing! Costco does not sell store-brand chicken eggs. You may have seen in the recent news that eggs were a popular item, but they are also expensive and difficult to come by due to an outbreak of bird flu. Costco has a huge selection of eggs, five dozen to be exact. I buy them for my Easter egg dyeing party every year. If I can get to Costco this year to buy my eggs, it’s nice to know they won’t come from caged chickens.
